Join sexuality journalist and SA survivor Katie Simon and Comprehensive Sex Educator & Trauma Expert Jimanekia Eborn to celebrate the release of Katie Simon's new book, Tell Me What You Like: An Honest Discussion of Sex and Intimacy After Sexual Assault. Their conversation will dive into all things intimacy after trauma: from triggers to kinks and fetishes, countering false belief systems, and aftercare. In a Q+A Katie, Jimanekia, and attendees will discuss how and why SA survivors are paving the way to better sex for everyone.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Katie Simon (she/they) has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Vogue, Buzzfeed, Tin House, Health, BUST, Women's Health, and elsewhere, including the anthology Anatomy of Silence. Katie studied creative writing at New York University and University of East Anglia, narrative medicine at Columbia University, human sexuality at the Kinsey Institute, and completed the Memoir Incubator at Grub Street in Boston, MA. She lives in Texas with her dog, Babka.
ABOUT THE EDUCATOR
Jimanekia Eborn is a Sexual Assault & Trauma Expert, Trauma Media Consultant, and Comprehensive Sex Educator. With a Masters in Health Psychology, she has worked in mental health for the past 17 years in sex education and sexual trauma support. Jimanekia is the Founder of Tending the Garden, a non-profit for for sexual assault survivors of different marginalized identities. She is also the host of Trauma Queen - a podcast working to normalize conversations about life's most challenging experiences, from sexual assault to mental health and beyond. Jimanekia is the co-founder of Cintima, bringing increased representation to the field of Intimacy Coordination in the film industry. In 2021, Jimanekia joined Lenora Claire Consulting as a SA & trauma expert for film & television productions.
